We exist to honor Jesus and our fellow man. We are being prepared by the Word of God so that we can serve wholeheartedly, as if we were serving the Lord, and not man. Ephesians 6:7

We believe in one God, who created the whole universe and continues to care for His creation. God has revealed Himself in three persons – the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. The Father provides for us, His children, and defends us from danger and evil. The Son, Jesus, came to our world as a man, lived a perfect life, died, and rose from the dead to redeem us as His people. The Holy Spirit works faith in us and calls us to new life in His name. We state our beliefs about God every Sunday in the words of the historic Creeds of the Church – the Apostle’s Creed, the Nicene Creed, and the Athanasian Creed.
God created man in His own image, both male and female, and gave man dominion over all creation. The first humans, Adam and Eve, disobeyed God, choosing instead to walk their own path. This is called sin, and the punishment for that sin is death and separation from God. Because of this sin, we cannot by our own power follow God or obey his Law (which is summarized in the Ten Commandments). We need to be forgiven of our sin if we hope to have life with God.
If we hope to be saved, we must put our faith in Jesus Christ, the Son of God. He was born as a man and lived on Earth as both God and man. He lived a perfect life, never sinning because He was God. Yet even though He was perfect, He allowed Himself to be killed, dying on a cross. Three days later, He rose from the dead, declaring His victory over sin and death. This act won for us our salvation – all who believe and trust in Jesus will be forgiven of their sins and will have eternal life with God, continuing on into heaven forever.
The Bible is the source of all our beliefs. We believe that it is the Word of God, and we trust in it to teach us the truth. We believe that it is inspired – which means that God gave the human authors the words to write down – and therefore it also is inerrant – completely, 100% true, since it is from our perfect God.
Baptism is one way in which we receive God’s promises of life and salvation. Baptism – which means “washing” – is water combined with God’s word, and God has commanded us to Baptize for the forgiveness of sins. When you are baptized, you are renewed by the Holy Spirit. We believe that Baptism saves, and therefore we Baptize at any age, including infants.
Communion, also known as the Lord’s Supper, is another way in which we receive God’s forgiveness, after we have been Baptized and instructed in the faith. Jesus gave us His Body and Blood for the forgiveness of our sins. We receive His true Body and Blood in, with, and under the physical forms of bread and wine. Each Sunday, we come forward in faith, sorry for our sins, desiring forgiveness, and seeking the power of the Holy Spirit to mend our lives.
The Church is not just a building, but it is all of God’s people together across the world, who believe in Him and seek to serve Him every day. We gather together each week to receive the gifts of God – namely His forgiveness through His Word and through Baptism and Communion. We worship God and give thanks to Him for what He’s done in our lives. When the service is over, we leave the building but remain God’s Church, as we live out our faith in our homes, schools, workplaces, and communities.
